The veterinary clinic in Hetta is open each weekday c. 8am–4pm, with vets on call in the evenings and roughly every third weekend. Physio Hetta offers osteopathic massage and kinesiology taping after a day outdoors.

Other Amenities

To join, fill in a form and give a current Finnish address — no ID needed — and borrow as many books as you like for 4 weeks at a time. They keep a small selection of English books, and a library bus visits Hetta periodically.

Launderette: In the second block of the shopping complex on the road to Norway. The municipality building downtown, almost opposite the 'red shop', has free reliable wifi, power points, comfortable sofas and a public PC. One bank in the centre of Hetta has an ATM outside. The main petrol station is at the post office; a second, at the junction to Norway, is one of the most expensive in Finland but stocks useful outdoor items. Two main garages serve the town, plus a garage at Palojoensuu and a fuel point in Palojärvi.
