Open Huts and Reservable Cabins near Hetta
The Jyppyrä Campfire Shelter is on top of Jyppyrä Hill, about 700 metres from the Fell Lapland Nature Centre, with an extraordinary view of the Hetta area and the whole Pallas-Ounastunturi Fell chain. It has a fireplace, wood and grilling sticks but no water source (you can borrow a coffeepot and water container from the Nature Centre).
Muotkajärvi Day Trip Hut sits by the narrow pass at the north end of Muotkajärvi Lake, with a fireplace - go easy when starting a fire as the chimney blocks easily. Sissanki Rental Lapp Hut, along the Hetta-Näkkälä Trail (a c. 7 km hike from the Nature Centre), seats 15 for meetings and sleeps up to 5; it costs 18 EUR / 4 h or 35 EUR / day. The Haunted Open Hut sleeps 4-6 further along the same trail, and the Närpistö Lean-to Shelter sits at the halfway point of the Pahtajärvi Trail.
