Outdoors.fi has information about all of the open and reservable wilderness cabins available through the Ministry of Forestry in Northern Lapland (covering most of Enontekiö); you also need their Western Lapland pages for some in the west of Enontekiö. WildNorth is your starting point for renting private cabins in Finland, and Lomarengas for cabins in the Enontekiö area. The huts listed on this page are all open ones, but may be in very variable condition.

- Water at most huts is not tested yearly - boil drinking water before use
Pöyrisjärvi Wilderness Area
There are 6 open wilderness huts and one combined open and reservable hut in and around the Pöyrisjärvi wilderness area. Näkkälän Välitupa (6-person, supposedly haunted) is on the Hetta-Näkkälä Trail, c. 15 km north of Hetta. The Pöyrisjärvi reservable hut sleeps 14 and the adjoining open hut sleeps 12 (10-11 EUR / night / person, 34 EUR / 4 h / group). Other open huts include Naltijärvi (10), Lenkihaka (10), Staalojärvi (12), Korteoja (6), Nallatupa (12) and Kalmakaltio (6). On the edges of the area, private bookable cabins are available in Näkkälä - Isokämppä and Näkkälän Pikkukämppä (week 484-564 EUR, weekend 161-242 EUR + 20 EUR booking fee).
Pulju Wilderness Area
There are two open wilderness huts currently available in the Pulju Wilderness area. Korsatupa holds 6 people, close to where the municipalities of Enontekiö, Kittilä and Inari meet, with a fireplace and sauna (pets allowed if others agree). Avisuora turf hut sleeps 4, southeast of Kalmankaltio on the boundary between Enontekiö and Inari. There are no marked trails within the area, though some old unmarked tracks are visible on the maps.
Tarvantovaara Wilderness Area
There are two open wilderness huts within the Tarvantovaara Wilderness Area intended for one to two night stays. Salvasjärvi Open Wilderness Hut fits 6, near the Norway border on the eastern shore of Salvasjärvi Lake along the Hetta-Kilpisjärvi snowmobile trail. Syväjärvi Open Wilderness Hut fits 4, on the south shore of the River Jietajoki, 2 km downstream from Lake Syväjärvi. Surrounding villages (Hetta, Palojärvi, Leppäjärvi, Kaaresuvanto, Kuttanen) offer hotels, rental cabins, caravan parking and camping.
Käsivarsi Wilderness Area & Kilpisjärvi Region
The Käsivarsi Wilderness Area (2,206 sq.km, established 1991) is mainly accessed from Kilpisjärvi. Reservable huts along the Nordkalottleden Trail include Halti (13-person, ex-Border Guard), Kuohkimajärvi (10), Kuonjarjoki (10), Meekonjärvi (10) and Saarijärvi (10), all at 10 EUR/night/person, alongside numerous open huts (Halti New 8 / Old 5, Kopmajoki 6, Kuohkimajärvi 6, Meekonjärvi 6, Pihtsusjärvi 10) and the Saanajärvi day-trip hut. Private bookable cabins on the edges of the area include Kelottijärvi, Jogasjärvi, Pousujärvi, Vuosku, Järämä, Nunas, Könkämä and Pikku-Pousu, most by the river Könkämäeno.
