Snowmobiles are a quick, easy way to get out into the middle of nowhere in search of the elusive northern lights, and we maintain several good trails near our base for just this purpose. By night the focus is on hunting the lights, finding a good spot and relaxing a while to enjoy them.

Northern Lights Snowmobile Tour
Some of the best aurora photos can be taken from the far side of Lake Ounasjärvi, looking north. We cannot guarantee the aurora, of course, but even on a quiet night we still have a great time riding the snowmobiles across the frozen landscape.
Available: Through the winter. Distance and c. Duration: 20km and c. 1.5 hr safari. Person on a shared snowmobile: €100 pp; solo snowmobile: €165; children / adults pulled in a snowmobile sleigh: €80. Includes a helmet, the snowmobile / sleigh as appropriate, driving instructions and a guide on a lead snowmobile. Snowmobile clothing and boots can be rented for €5/piece and €2.50 each for gloves / mitts / hats / buffs. A minimum of 4 people are needed for this tour (you can cover the price for 4 pax to make sure it runs).
Experience the Aurora from a HEATED 'bubble' Sleigh
Travel into the wilderness in comfort with Enontekiö's only speciality Sherpa snowmobile and heated 'bubble sleigh'. We tend to offer this just to groups of family or friends, and it is a perfect way to experience the wilderness of Enontekiö — particularly with older or younger participants. The sleigh is so comfortable we have even had a bride travel to her wedding ceremony in it in her wedding dress! Up to 9 people can stay in the cosy bubble sleigh while two more brave the elements on the back of the huge sherpa snowmobile with the guide.
