Autumn is actually one of the best times to see the northern lights and it is a stunning and safe time of year for running the arctic rivers. This week is focused on lake and river paddling and incorporates a couple of overnight wilderness cabin stops along two different arctic rivers.

This is a great way to make the most of the blazing fall-coloured trails, frosty mornings and sparkling lakes. Each night as darkness falls, wonder at the landscape bathed in gold - and then, hopefully, sit back and enjoy the majestic nocturnal display in the middle of the arctic wilderness.
