This is a package built for those who want to spend their days primarily with the dogs during one of the most hands-on times of the year, and their evenings and nights hunting for auroras.
- Three farm days working hands-on with the dogs as a husky guide
- Final two optional days: arctic activities, a river journey or a National Park hike
- Evenings and nights spent hunting for auroras
- Full equipment support for kayaking or trekking included
- Optional extras: reindeer farm, fishing trip, bird-watching tower hike
Blazing Trails
The three days after arrival are spent on the farm. It is entirely up to you how much you learn about functioning as a husky guide, or simply work alongside the guide team caring for and training the dogs.
The final two days can be spent on a range of arctic activities, a classic river journey, or a hike through the National Park (which can be extended into a 3-day hike if you'd rather give up one of the designated husky days for it). The choice is yours. Note that the package includes 1 night's accommodation in a wilderness cabin, since most people opt for a hiking or paddling journey during their optional days.
What's included
Price includes: accommodation and board as described, experienced guides for on-farm training activities, a transfer and pick-up to and from the kayaking / hiking roadhead and full equipment support for whatever activity is selected (kayak, helmet, paddle, buoyancy aid for paddling, rucksack, sleeping bag / sleeping bag liner for trekking).
Optional extra activities include: visits to a local reindeer farm, a guided journey to a fell lake or local lake for fishing, or a hike to a bird watching tower.
