A gap-year placement is a long commitment on both sides, so we both have to be sure it's a good fit. You'll need to be confident project managing activities to tight timelines and, ideally, have specific skills to contribute to the group. You'll likely become more involved in computing and behind-the-scenes tasks than those here for shorter periods.
- A long-term commitment — a good fit matters on both sides
- Confident project management to tight timelines required
- Greater involvement in computing and behind-the-scenes tasks
- Business skills: lean pathways, 80:20 practices, marketing and sales
What you'll learn
You'll learn more business-related skills than you might imagine — lean pathways, 80:20 business practices, marketing, sales and all the background aspects of running a business that, perhaps surprisingly, also apply to a husky farm in the Arctic. You will, of course, still spend the majority of your time — particularly the first 6+ months — working with the dogs and running safari products during the safari season.
