We have a long history of working towards making the outdoors accessible to all. Our largest commitment has been a two-year research project developing suitable kit and clothing technology for a successful inclusive crossing of the Greenland Icecap, which we completed in 2006 in a team which included a paralympian gold medalist (to be), Karen Darke.
- Two-year research project enabled an inclusive crossing of the Greenland Icecap (2006)
- Overnight wilderness safaris run with up to 1:1 support ratios
- Transfers to the farm by quad, kicksled or snowmobile
- Vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and other dietary needs catered for
Adapting to your needs
We have a lot of experience with physical challenges, some experience with mental ones, and are very open to developing safari products and winter vacations that are accessible to all. Some local accommodation providers have accessible facilities, and we are board-walking many of our paths for year-round access. We can always transfer people with physical limitations to the farm by quad in summer and by kicksled or snowmobile in winter.
Over the past decade we have welcomed mixed-ability groups from Finland and abroad, and even run overnight wilderness safaris with dogs for groups needing a 1:2 or even 1:1 support ratio. Just let us know your special needs ahead of time and we will see what we can do.
A welcome for everyone
We welcome all guests with equality and tolerance, regardless of nationality, culture, religion, sexual orientation, physical ability or sensory impairment, and strive to create experiences for all senses and all people. Our meals are always relatively simple but can be arranged for vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and other allergies and preferences. When we know about disabilities and special needs in advance, we are more than happy to plan the programme to support them. Everyone deserves a chance to know the freely-given cuddles of loving huskies and to feel the freedom of the Arctic wilderness against their cheeks.
