Guides Being Guides

A photo gallery capturing what it really means to live and work as an Arctic husky guide, in winter and summer alike.

Life as a guide can seem monotonous: the same basic tasks must be completed to exacting standards, year round. But as anyone who has worked with animals knows, once they are in the equation nothing ever goes as planned - which makes this one of the least monotonous jobs available!

Everyday Indiana Jones Moments

Arguably one of the best parts of the winter job are what the guides call 'everyday Indiana Jones moments' - when the adrenalin suddenly flows and they have to save a sleigh a client has just fallen off, break up a fight, or otherwise set the world to rights in some heroic way.

It is a fun way of life, and life is not just about work: the arctic is a great playground, and our guides take full advantage of it. These images try to convey a little of what it means to be an Arctic husky guide. Enjoy.
