Yukon and his brother, Quest, came to us from Stefan Falter in the summer of 2017. Quest, a 'pony of a dog', spent part of his formative years in a tourist kennel before being returned to Stefan when it closed. We expected him a bit less well trained than Yukon, but both had been doing long 90km training runs at the end of the 2016-17 season. Quest had raced less than Yukon, though he had raced with Tim Zimmermann. After returning from the safari kennel, he no longer loved running with or being free around his brother, although he was fine with other dogs. His mother, Dent, and father, Scoty, raced with Stefan, winning the bergebyløpet twice plus a 2nd place and four top-5 finishes in the Pasvik Trail Race; his father also ran with Espen in the Barnas Finnmarkslopet, where we first met Stefan. These dogs have tough feet, wear booties only below -25C, and don't bite harnesses or lines. In case you can't tell me from my brother, I'm the one with a strong brown/white line down my face.
