Come to us for a summer adventure, half a day or full day. The time passes quickly as you spend time on the farm with the dogs and discover some of the outdoor attractions of Hetta. Our activities can be adapted to the size of your group and the ages taking part.

Summer Adventure Mornings
Summer adventure mornings generally include a farm visit, a chance to try hik-joring with a dog of your choice through the GEE HAW maze, and the agility course with a couple of the pups.
We then take a short hike to a secluded put-in on the Suonttajoki River - the perfect place to get to grips with paddling. As you meander down the small reed-filled river you gain confidence, before crossing to the far side of Lake Ounasjarvi for a short break in a Finnish lakeside cabin. On the way back you can say goodbye to the dogs at the farmhouse.

Summer Adventure Day
Summer adventure days start out like an adventure morning, but we spend more time with the dogs on the farm, also showing you how we massage the older dogs to stimulate their circulation and give the younger ones basic obedience training. On a cool enough day we may take a taster ride with a go-cart or quadbike, and we can explore the marsh ridge.
Around mid-day we prepare kayaks for an A-B journey, driving first to a put-in c. 6km away on the shores of Lake Muotkajarvi. From there it is a c. 2km paddle through to Lake Ounasjarvi via a fun, grade-1 tributary, then c. 3km to a cabin on the far shore for a sandwich and soup lunch, before continuing back to the farm via the reed-filled, meandering Suonttajoki River. It is a lovely journey and a favourite of our guides. If there is time and you are still keen, you may be able to join the evening feeding of the dogs on your return.
