Our summer mushing experience includes a farm tour (if the mushing is booked in advance) and is a very hands-on activity. You will interact with the dogs a lot and see how much they love to work whenever they get the chance — experiencing first-hand both the thrills of running with them and the challenges of training them to behave well in the line.
- Includes a farm tour when booked in advance
- Drive a troll cart yourself, or ride pillion on a quad
- 5–8 dogs in the team; 2km route takes about 10 minutes
- Fatmax scooter and fatbike options at the same price
How it works
We will assemble the team of dogs with your help. We generally have 5–8 dogs in front of the cart or quad. Each round of our 2km route takes about 10 minutes including a recovery stop for the dogs half way. All tours cost €42 per adult, €32 per child, irrespective of whether you are going by quad, trollcart, bike or kickbike.
Troll carts
Our carts can be driven by guests or by our guides, depending on the group. Very small children can sit on a parent's knee, but as soon as they can hold on for themselves we prefer to seat them beside an adult — possible from c.4 years upwards. If you are driving, we give comprehensive instructions beforehand, and passengers can swap with the driver half-way. There is always a guide on the first cart or quad to look after you along the way.
Quads
Quad bikes are always driven by a guide, unless we feel that conditions are suitable for an adult to drive for part of the route. 1 adult (or 2 children) can sit on each of the two available quads with a guide. When they have finished, you can join us in saying thank-you to the dogs by giving them a well-earned cool drink before walking them back to their individual kennels.
Try our Fat-max Tour?
As an alternative to quad-bike mushing, you can ride our 2km summer loop using a fat-max scooter or fatbike, at the same cost. So in a larger group, some can go with a guide on a quad while others try a fat-max or the go-cart. We have four quads, three fat-max and one 'go-cart-bike' contraption available for taster rides.
Morning or Afternoon Training Sessions
If 2km is not enough and you want an extra loop or to try more than one piece of equipment, the additional 2km will only cost an additional €10/person. Alternatively, join us for an entire morning or afternoon training session if you are here during training season (just before and after the main winter season): Adults €80, Children €45. Each team of dogs will run anything from 4km to 16km depending on where they have reached in their training programme.
