Borrow a husky for the summer.
A working break — for everyone.
Winter is when our dogs work. Summer is when they get to be dogs. June through August we send a handful of our privileged few to vetted families across Europe — for a sofa, a garden, and someone to lie in the sun with.
How it works
- You get in touch in spring. Tell us about your home, your family, any other animals, and the kind of dog who'd fit (mellow, active, sociable, quiet).
- We match you to a dog. 200+ huskies, every personality you can think of — we'll find one who'll thrive at your place for the summer.
- The dog spends June–August with you. They come back to us when the snow does.
- You can do it again next year. Many of our fosters develop a long-term bond with the same dog, year after year.
Who it's for
Anyone with a real home, a bit of patience, and the willingness to take a 25 kg working athlete on long walks. You don't need previous husky experience — but you do need to be honest about your setup. We've turned down lovely people because the dog and the home wouldn't actually have been a good fit. That's a feature, not a bug.
What it costs
For the foster, nothing beyond food and the basics of looking after them. We cover the travel logistics within Europe — we have routes we use every year. For the dog, it's a holiday. For us, it's three months of help with the kennel running costs. For you, it's the best summer house guest you'll ever have.
The local version
If you happen to be in the Hetta area — or visiting — we also have a few dogs with local admirers who offer them a sofa for a few nights at a time. Smaller commitment, same idea. Just ask.
Spaces are limited
We only send dogs to homes we're confident in. Apply early — by March is ideal — and we'll have a proper chat before anyone gets on a plane.
